Regarding MICE, Argentina is one of the greatest examples in Latin America, so it was present through the National Institute for Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR).

From May 31st to June 2nd, the Argentinian delegation held more than 400 business meetings in search of organising new events in the country. Several organisms were also part of this delegation, including Visit Buenos Aires and Villa La Angostura C&V Bureau, the Argentinian Association of Organisers and Providers of Exhibitions, Congresses, Events and Convention Bureaus (AOCA), and 17 private companies convened by the Argentine Chamber of Tourism (CAT).

The Executive Secretary of INPROTUR, Ricardo Sosa, assured, “After the difficult times brought about by the pandemic, the world resumes tourist activities. In this context, Argentina joins with great expectations, since the reactivation in our country is already perceived, with excellent results in our last summer season and in all the promotional actions that we have been carrying out. Without a doubt, MICE will be a fundamental part for recovering and exceeding pre-pandemic levels.”

This year, IMEX celebrated its 20th anniversary, with the participation of more than 100 countries. The main global entities were present, such as ICCA, Site, UFI, MPI, PCMA, among others, enabling training and networking opportunities.

It should also be noted that more than 100 educational events for professional development were held, featuring trends and future forecasts, creativity in communication, diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility, innovation and technology, among other themes. It is important to mention that, nowadays, Argentina has 50 destinations suitable for holding international events, and 31 Convention & Visitors Bureaux.
