PARAGUAY, BOLIVIA AND URUGUAY MEDIA UPDATED ON CURRENT TOURISM SITUATION IN ARGENTINA

INPROTUR,’s Executive Secretary Ricardo Sosa, met with the press of these neighboring countries to discuss Argentina’s international promotion projects.

In spite of the difficulties posed by the pandemic, the National Bureau of Tourism Promotion, led by Executive Secretary Ricardo Sosa, keeps promoting Argentina tourism worldwide.

As part of these actions, providing information on the INPROTUR’s work is critical to make the international markets aware of our country’s current tourism situation as well as to urge the traveling community to visit our country, once the health conditions allow it.

To this end, Sosa met with nearly 40 journalists from Paraguay, Bolivia and Uruguay today, to discuss various topics such as our outstanding varied digital promotion, the progress achieved in biosecurity with the award of the Safe Travels Stamp by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), development of 14 health protocols, Sports Tourism led by golf and by Argentina’s alliance with the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, our leadership in MICE tourism and the promotion of local dishes in Morfar, the food proposal launched on Visit Argentina’s social networks, among others.

As Sosa pointed out: “Before the pandemic, Argentina welcomed over two million tourists from Paraguay, Bolivia and Uruguay. Thanks to our territorial closeness, culture and traditional bonds between us, these markets are of major importance for Argentina’s inbound tourism.  This is why this meeting is so valuable, for the media in these countries to keep travelers updated on how well we are getting ready to welcome them back”.

Paraguay with over 850,000 visitors, Uruguay with almost 800,000 and Bolivia with more than 550,000 ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively in arrivals in our country in 2019, before the pandemic. Our goal from now on will be to increase the number of visitors and to make travelers feel the desire to come back and enjoy the proposals that Argentina offers.
