ARGENTINA KEEPS STRONG PRESENCE IN MEXICO

With nearly 30 business meetings held with tour operators, INPROTUR had a promising participation in the NEEXTT Travel Trade Exchange 7th edition.

During the past week, Argentina was, once again, a major player in the Latin American tourism scene, specifically in Mexico. Through the National Bureau of Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR), our country took part in the NEEXTT Travel Trade Exchange 7th edition.

This prestigious online tourism meeting gave Argentina the opportunity to show its tourism supply in one of the major markets of the region and to hold nearly 30 business meetings with tour operators – many of them, high-end operators – who showed interest in pushing forward new projects in our country.

“Mexico is one of the 15 most important markets of our inbound tourism. We know that nearly 20 million Mexican travelers get around the world and it’s them that we are targeting. With this kind of actions we get close to tourism professionals to give them detailed information to promote our country”, INPROTUR’s Executive Secretary Ricardo Sosa pointed out.

It is worth noting that in 2019 Mexico was ranked 14th by the arrival of foreign travelers to Argentina, totaling nearly 103,000 arrivals, with an average stay of 11 nights and daily expenses of USD 106. Due to the geographical distance, the main access route is by air (69%) and most of them visit our country mainly in the fourth quarter of the year (34%).

And as far as high-end tourism is concerned, it should also be highlighted that 47% of Mexican travelers coming to our country by air to spend their vacations stay in four and five-star hotels.
