ARGENTINA CONSOLIDATES ITS PROMOTION IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

With Argentina’s participation in ReThink South America LATAM in New York, our country’s presence and promotion in the United States has been consolidated in the first face-to-face tourism event of this year, where almost 100 North American hosted buyers assisted.

The delegation was led by INPROTUR’s Executive Secretary, Ricardo Sosa, part of the Institute’s Technical Team, and the Head of Eurotour company, Martín Zanone. They both participated in the opening of the event chaired by the Vice President for LATAM North America, Paola Peñarete. Representatives from Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Chile also attended the event.

In this context, Sosa pointed out that Argentina’s participation “aims at strengthening the promotion in the North American market, considering that before the pandemic, it was the main source of outbound tourism from non-border countries. From the INPROTUR, we have taken numerous promotion measures, and as soon as the borders were reopened in November last year, we participated in face-to-face management events in Florida and New York. This promotion was also supported with digital activations, face-to-face trade training, and participation in the Travel & Adventure Show fairs in New York and Los Angeles, among other activities”.

He then specified that “being present at ReThink South America enables us to consolidate our presence, accelerate the intermediation of the offer, exhibit our tourist products, while the participating Argentinian operator also generates commercial agreements.”

He added that, in the first meetings, “our technical team gathered with tour operators from New York were not selling Argentina; we were very eager to learn more about products and seek new business strategic partners.” The journey continued with more scheduled meetings and an official presentation of Argentina before hosted buyers and the authorities of LATAM.
