Together with Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens, Minister of the Interior, Eduardo De Pedro, and Director of Migrations, Florencia Carignano, INPROTUR’s Executive Secretary, Ricardo Sosa, participated in the presentation of a new visa system especially designed for digital nomads –the new kind of inbound tourism around the world.
This program aims to attract worldwide tourists who want to work or study while taking advantage of the benefits we offer: from our amazing natural destinations to the delightful gastronomic offers, highlighting the favourable exchange rate for those who decide to work from our country.
Minister Lammens underlined the work that the Tourism Promotion Institute has been carrying out to draw tourists to our country, “Inbound tourism is very important to generate dollars and continue growing.” He also foregrounded the training that will be given to tourism agencies and hotels so that they can increase the offer for digital nomads.
On the other hand, the Director of Migrations, Florencia Carignano, detailed the importance of the NOMADES DIGITALES plan and the benefits for the provinces, “We are providing provinces with tools so that they can add benefits to the visas, such as coworking spaces or tourist attractions, among others.”
The visa for digital nomads can be requested online, and it includes a renewable six-month stay, allowing those who enter the country to provide services to foreign companies; they will also have differential rates in hotels and domestic flights with Aerolineas Argentinas. In addition, from INPROTUR, we will provide training for hotel workers so that they can become familiar with nomads’ needs. We have also developed a special seal so that they can be identified when looking for accommodation, and together with the BIG BOX company, we have made an alliance, so that tourists can enjoy adventure experiences through a point system.
