REACTIVATION —FOR THE FIRST TIME, JETSMART FLIES BETWEEN PARAGUAY AND ARGENTINA

INPROTUR, led by Executive Secretary Ricardo Sosa, participated in the announcing event
of the first flight of the company JetSMART, which will connect Asunción with Buenos Aires
for the first time ever.

“We are celebrating that this decision is part of Argentina’s recovery process and tourism
growth.”
With these words, Tourism Promotion Institute (INPROTUR)’s Executive Secretary
Ricardo Sosa
highlighted the efforts devoted towards the recovery and addition of new
flight routes (like this one) for the country.

The presentation event took place in the Embassy of Paraguay in the City of Buenos Aires,
where Juan Ramón Cano Montanía, chargé d’affaires a.i. of the host institution, also
participated. In addition, the following prominent authorities were present: Yanina
Martínez, Secretary of Tourism Promotion of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the
Nation, and Gonzalo Pérez Corral and Darío Ratinoff, General Manager and Commercial
Manager of JetSMART
, respectively.

During the presentation, the advantages and potential benefits for the development of
tourism as a result of the connection between these destinations were highlighted. Along
these lines, Sosa emphasised that these benefits have a broader impact, including “cultural
and social aspects, since the possibility of arriving implies strengthening our brotherhood.
This is crucial because the company can connect other destinations in the country.”

In turn, the advantages go hand in hand with the Argentinian commercial airline system:
“We are going through a moment of recovery in this sphere. And, along with it, an
international company decides to invest in Argentina, joining other airlines which also
accompany the growth goal set by INPROTUR and the Ministry of Tourism,”
Sosa claimed.
It should be noted that, in 2019, we registered 850,000 arrivals of Paraguayan tourists per
year, of which 650,000 entered by land, and 89,000, by air.

So far, in 2022, the percentage remains the same (80% of visitors arriving by land, and
10% by plane). Sosa concluded, “The growth by air has clearly great potential; in fact, this
makes JetSMART operate new flights to take advantage of this potential.”

From 15th November, the airline will start operating Airbus 320 set up for 186 passengers.
In total, there will be 3 weekly frequencies (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays),
departing at 6:30 AM from Ezeiza and arriving at the Paraguayan capital at 8:20 AM; from
there, it will return at 9:10 AM.
